Art Institute of Surakarta (ISI)

The Art Institute of Surakarta (ISI) is located on Ki Hajar Dewantara Street no.19, Surakarta, Central Java. ISI Surakarta owns two campuses, Campus One is in Kentingan and Campus Two is in Mojosongo. Campus One is used for post-graduate programs and the Faculty of Performing Arts. Campus Two is used for the Faculty of Fine Arts and Faculty of Recording Arts

 

The Art Institute of Indonesia Surakarta, better known as ISI Surakarta or ISI Solo, is one of the finest art institutes in the country. The campus has a long history and been through changes to become what it is. ISI Surakarta is a metamorphosis of the Karawitan Art Academy of Indonesia (ASKI) which had turned into Art College of Indonesia (STSI). It was founded in 1965 as the Akademi Seni Karawitan Indonesia (ASKI). In 1983 it merged with the Akademi Seni Tari Indonesia (ASTI) to form the Sekolah Tinggi Seni Indonesia Surakarta (STSI Surakarta). In September 2006 it was raised to the level of an institute and given its current name. They are famous for teaching karawitan, wayang,  Javanese dance, and other traditional crafts.

ISI Surakarta has two undergraduate faculties, i.e. the Faculty of Performing Art and Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. The former consists of departments such as Karawitan, Ethnomusicology, Dance, and Pedhalangan (Puppetry). As for the later, it includes Handicraft Art, Fine Arts, Recording Arts, and Design. The campus also offers two post-graduate programs, Art Study and Art Creation.

Sebelas Maret University (Indonesian: Universitas Sebelas Maret) is an Indonesian public university in the suburban area of Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. It is colloquially known as UNS or UNS Solo.

Being officially merged on March 11, 1976, it was named Universitas Negeri Surakarta Sebelas Maret which means "The State University of Surakarta Eleventh of March." Later it was shortened to Universitas Sebelas Maret.

UNS is supported by more than 1,600 lecturers; 4% of them are professors, and 72.9% of them hold either a bachelor's degree or master's degree. It is supported by approximately 900 administrative staffs. The overall human resources have become a valuable asset to lead the organization towards the realization of the defined visions, missions, and purposes. UNS has a large academic community. Students mostly come from outside of Surakarta, who have to leave family and regulate all activities on their own. UNS requires facilities, infrastructure and supporting facilities in the health sector to support academic activities for the lecturer, staff, and especially the students. The existing clinic is inadequate to meet those needs. The Family Medicine master's program received equipment from the Ministry of Health to develop a model of family clinic services, which provide comprehensive, quality, effective, efficient and humane health services, supported the concept of health insurance/Public Health Maintenance Insurance (JPKM). UNS-MC will be used to support teaching and learning activities for the practicum for students Faculty of Medicine and Family Medicine. Other leading universities already have and develop the medical center. Participants are students, employees, lecturers, and communities around the campus.
